The book : Haru is an orphaned baby elephant. He lives in the Elephant Orphanage and now considers Amiya, who takes care of him, to be his mother. He obeys her orders and stays in his place when she leaves for a while. One day, however, Haru sees Amiya being swept away by the waters of the river and then he is faced with a dilemma about whether he should break the rules.
The series : In order for children to have a healthy social life based on effective relationships, they need to cultivate empathy, the ability to put themselves in the shoes of others, to understand and feel things in the same way that another person experiences them. This need is met by the illustrated books in this series, which promote emotional intelligence. With the approach suggested for parents and educators, they attempt to introduce children to seeing the world through the eyes of others, after first learning to recognize and manage their own emotions.
