Description

The Christmas tree is based on a very special Norwegian tradition created in 1947: according to it, the mayor of Oslo sends Britain an impressive Christmas tree every year – a gift that symbolizes peace and friendship between the two peoples, and a thank you for the help of Britain during the Second World War. The tree travels thousands of kilometers to reach London's Trafalgar Square, where it stands proudly, in full light, every year.

Each year, the Society of Poets of Great Britain asks a poet to write a poem to welcome the tree. Julia Donaldson wrote the lyrics that later inspired the images to become this book in honor of the 2020 Christmas tree.

A beautiful, enchanting story in rhyme about hope and the importance of the holidays.
