The book:
A lion, who had once saved the life of a mouse, fell into a trap. The king of the jungle, wrapped in ropes, tried to free himself. But it was impossible. The tiger that passed by refused to help him. The elephants tried, but they did not succeed. And when the lion was in despair, the mouse that had saved his life appeared and freed him. How?
The series:
Aesop's fables represent the folk spirit throughout time and their main goal is to teach. At the end of each of his stories, Aesop is not interested in the redemption of the heroes, in the "they lived well and we lived better" of fairy tales; Aesop is interested in the epimyth, that is, in highlighting a moral lesson, understandable by children and the people. This is exactly the epimyth that the books in the "Yolanda Meets Aesop" series want to promote, despite the fact that the author, in order to make the initial narrative more attractive or to highlight other key issues that emerge from it, sometimes adds elements to the plot of the story (heroes, words, deeds) until she reaches the desired moral lesson (Aesopic epimyth).
